The French Adhesion Society, which is a group within the Société Française du Vide (SFV) or the French Vacuum Society), was created in 1992 by Professor Jacques Schultz with the aim of encouraging and supporting adhesion science. Its activities include the promotion of scientific information and 'savoir faire' between the various groups working in the field, be they from industry or academic institutes.

With the support of its 2-yearly elected committee, the SFA organises national level colloquia every 2 years to discuss the state-of-the-art and give an overview of research in adhesion. The SFA also organises short training courses for industrialists and academics. In collaboration with its international partners, the SFA organises international conferences in the same fields, for example Euradh - the European conference, and WCARP the World conference, and also oversees actions to further develop and exploit adhesion phenomena.

We would like to invite you to into these pages to find out more about our activities. Within you will find a more detailed account of our structure, the people involved, the actions we carry out, and all this with a selection of useful links.

And of course, you'd also be very welcome to join as by becoming a member of the SFV/SFA!
