WORKSHOP"BIODECON PROJECT":

FRIDAY 8 JUNE 2007: 2.00 pm to 5.30pm

The workshop "BIODECON" represents the official midterm meeting of the EU-project BIODECON, which is funded in the 6th framework programme of the EU. This project is aimed at the understanding and development of plasma sterilization methods for the medical industry. Low and atmospheric pressure plasma sources are evaluated and the inactivation of bacteria and of hazardous biomolecules including prions is studied. The consortium consists of partners from Germany, Italy and France. The contributions from workpackage leaders of the project are complemented by external speakers highlighting the demand in industry as well as the issues regarding the validation of plasma sterilization in the future.
